2019 Market Season

Our Market will be starting the 2019 season on Friday, May 24th, 09:00 am to 1:00 pm.  We are located outdoors in front of the old Train Station, now called Station 20. The Market will run from May 24th  to October 4th rain or shine!  Join us in supporting your local vendors of fresh fish, breads, seasonal fruit & veggies, baked goods, jewelry, soaps, handcrafted items, artworks, flowers, hot food and more.  Come grow with us!

Canada 150 Celebration Market

In Celebration of our Canada 150 Market, we will be having a special event at our market!

On June 30th (if raining, event will be postponed to our next Market day – July 7th) between 10 am & 2 pm, we will be having a Free BBQ, Live Music, Face Painting, a Bouncing Castle and more!  On top of it all, we will be having a big Draw for our Vendor’s Gift Basket with free ballots, all you need to do is come to the market!

2017 Market Season

Christmas Market

Our Annual Christmas Market is fast approaching – December 4th from 10 until 2 at the Chester Royal Canadian Legion on Union Street.

We are very excited to bring you a fine selection of products for gift giving this holiday season and for year-round giving.  Hot food and beverages are available from the kitchen.

Welcome to our last Friday market of the 2016 season.   We would like to thank all the vendors who participated in this year’s market and all of our customers.  Our market would not exist without you!

There is still lots of great produce to be found at the market this week and don’t forget to stock up on your favourite artisan products for yourself or for gift giving.

September 30th

Welcome to our 2nd last market of the 2016 season.  Sunny skies are finally going to be with us after a few drizzly markets.  The Board of the Market would like to take this time to thank Diane Guilbault 20160617_006_rsfor her work as Chair of the Board over the past few years.  Diane (the face of La Vendeenne at many markets) has retired and is moving back to Ontario to enjoy her retirement.  We wish her well in all her future endeavors!

I think we caught her waking up with her morning coffee in this photo.  You will be missed Diane!

Happy Fall Equinox!  Fall is officially here and we are reaping the bounty of our summer gardens with fresh veggies and berries, jams and jellies, pickles and more.  Many of our vendors have some sort of fresh produce along with their regular products.

Aaahhh!  Now that all the children are back in school it’s time to relax (just a bit) from this new found freedom and come and enjoy the last few weeks of the Market.  Veggies and berries, jams and jellies, and pickles abound from the summer’s harvest.

Check out our new sign that is now posted on the Chester Heritage Society property.

Next week we will be having free corn provided by the Higbee’s for our annual Customer Appreciation corn boil.  We hope in can stop in for an ear of their sweet home grown corn.  Originally planned for today it has been postponed until next week.

With the August heat behind us we enter into one of the most beautiful months in Nova Scotia, September, with it’s colourful jerusalem artichokes and other late blooming flowers.  We have two vendors selling fresh flower bouquets.  Friday is Market Day in Chester and it’s going to be a lovely day – Come Grow With Us!
